Make Your Own Smoothie at the Blake Smoothie Bar!
Serves 4
1 C yogurt of your choice
¾ C liquid of your choice (milk or juice)
1 C fresh or frozen fruit
½ C ice
Look in your refrigerator, freezer, pantry and fruit bowl for available ingredients
Once you know the ingredients you want to use, write the recipe out using the ratios listed above, using proper units
Check your blender carefully to be sure it’s assembled properly
Add all ingredients, adding the ice last to prevent it sticking to the metal blades
Blend until smooth.
Sample a small amount to see if you need to make any changes to the consistency or flavor
(sometimes a little honey or vanilla can be nice, but use no more than a TBSP of honey or a tsp of vanilla)
Make any modifications on your recipe, and if it’s delicious, submit it to Mrs. Cowell for publication on the Consumer Science website!
